    Mild night sweats on treatment

I was treated with ABVD 2015-2016. I had night sweats during the first 4 or 5 treatments. A doctor friend said its a tumor-reduction fever and is a good sign. Hang in there!

Just diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and have some questions

I was where you are now in the summer of 2015. As others have said, the symptoms seem to vary widely for Hodgkins. Mine were Raynaud's in both hands (fingers easily get cold, turning white), and diffuse swelling at the base of the right side of my neck. My symptoms started about 6 months before...

New here -- finished first round of ABVD Dec 29

Constipation is almost always a problem. Check with your oncologist, but I took the full dose of stool softeners all the time. You definitely want to stay on top of that. I think you want to be more careful with laxatives, but softeners help tremendously.

New here -- finished first round of ABVD Dec 29

First, I'm praying for you. You have entered a life-changing event. You will face issues few people will ever have to, will learn to endure a challenge that is truly larger than life, and will be in a position to help others one day. Second, who says cancer is good???? It is true Hodgkin's is a...

    First Week Chemo :(

I have been there too! ABVD is very hard on you but it is extremely effective in treating your lymphoma. You may as well know that these treatments will probably be be the most trying ordeal you will ever go through. But all of us who have gone through this and come out the other side will tell...

I'm terrified - Scan Anxiety - Nerve Damage

After cancer the world looks different and you never think about life the same way. Hang in there! Funny side story, a year after my last treatment I finally lose a few pounds, only to come to the [totally irrational!!!!] conclusion it's probably cancer- so I started eating again to put the...

Daily Fever Before Chemo...When Did It End?

Since I didn't have B symposium, I'm not sure how much this helps. But I ran a fever on days 5 and 6 for my first few treatments of up to maybe 100 through the night. The doc said these were tumor reduction fevers where you run a fever as your body processes the dead cancer cells thanks to the...

    mental state after chemo?!

My last treatment was about 5 months ago, and I have worried at times that I won't have the same level of energy I did before chemo. But as time goes by I can look back and see that I have progressed. I also think I've figured out that if I suddenly feel lightheaded, it means I should go home...

    mental state after chemo?!

For me, encountering cancer came with a lot of difficulties... As everyone here can attest to. One of them was having to deal with the fact I can't do one single thing to help my situation, aside from taking the treatments. I think most people here are used to dealing with, and solving to one...

Had bloodwork on Tuesday for 6th month follow-up!

It's no fun when a doctor's visit begins with a drum roll....

Should I sue my port-placement surgeon?

That sounds awful. I think a lot of ports are implanted on the left side. I know mine was. So I'm not sure left or right was the problem. That's not to say something wasn't wrong. So sorry you had to endure that! Ugh. And I can sympathize with you on the saline flushes. I had to concentrate on...

    Bleomycin

You're absolutely right. This stuff is confusing. And you thought you had to choose the lesser of two evils (with your life on the line) only during major elections! All kidding aside, it comes down to what you decide. My best advise is to be as informed as you can, with the fullest...

    My Story

Ugh!! Chase and candihl, those are terrible stories! The "not knowing" is the worst, having to constantly brace yourself for bad news. As one doctor friend put it, you "die a thousand deaths" as you work toward a diagnosis. I am so appreciative places like this forum because everyone's...

Just diagnosed with Classical Hodgkin's Lymphoma...

So sorry you're having to go through this! I was diagnosed at 47 with NSHL 2A in August 2015 after going to the doc because the right side of my neck at the base looked swollen with no palpable lymph nodes. Like you, I had no other symptoms, was pretty active physically, and had a lot on my...

    Bleomycin

I had 12 full treatments, and all through the treatments I asked my doctor several times about the possibility of Bleomycin damage. In fact, I asked him pointedly if I should skip it on the last 2 treatments. He was patient and took 10 or 15 minutes to talk with me about it. And it ultimately...

spread the love/hate relationshpip with ABVD

I hear you!!! Just finished 12 rounds of ABVD about a month ago. Everything about this is stressful- the ABVD taste, nausea at the sight of red liquids, having to come face to face every two weeks with the fact I have cancer WHILE getting chemo... Let me be clear, I have a fantastic oncologist...

    Emend making nausea worse

Follow up I just got my third ABVD treatment about 27 hrs ago and the nausea is almost nonexistent. These are the three factors i can think of: 1- I did not get emend with this treatment and the results are clear. The emend was the most likely culprit for the immediate and extended nausea I...

Probably harmless things that I'm (irrationally) convinced are Cancer:

Hang in there. I'm not looking forward to the wait-and-see-if-I'm-cured phase of this disease (I'm just taking my 3rd treatment Thursday). After telling yourself "its nothing", and the a number of doctors saying "its nothing", its a difficult thing to then find out its CANCER!!! However...
