It's true what everyone is saying, Andrew, that the worst time emotionally is right after diagnosis, before you have a treatment plan.
Yes, having treatment is a big hassle, no doubt about it. But as everyone has said, cutaneous lymphoma is very treatable. Do whatever you need to do to bring those anxiety levels down. I'm familiar with anxiety, and have found exercise (for me, long walks and yoga do the trick), guided relaxation and simple meditation to help. And if you want a drink, by all means, have one. This is a hard time to go through, but if you can find something that distracts you, all the better. Stay off the web--you'll find studies on patients far, far sicker than you and it'll be a downer. Everyone of us here has found depressing studies for the specific type of lymphoma and have scared ourselves unnecessarily. The stress of diagnosis is enough. Hang tough. And keep us posted. We care about what you're going through and want to help however we can. Hugs, Jeanne

Hi again, thanks for the support. I decided to head off in the caravan for a few weeks holiday. its been good to get away. last week I had a bone marrow biopsy ouch!, I get the results & a ct scan next week. The doctor said I had Primary cutaneous follicle center lymphoma, she said if it hasn't spread its very treatable. If it has spread then the outlook would be not so good. Anyway I'm lying in bed in my caravan with my family fast asleep typing this on my phone so id better get my head down.

WOW WHO TOLD YOU THIS - NOT A LYMPHOMA EXPERT I BET.
I have to add something here!! Its great if it hasn't spread. And, yes, stage I is the best, but if it has spread its not bad. In fact, it is common. Even if discovered in stage I sometimes it is not even treated until it bothers the patient which could be years until it grows more. Lymphoma is different than other cancers. Tumor cancers that spread are more difficult to treat. Lymphoma that has spread is treated the same or similarly. Most people's have spread by the time it is detected. And, that doesn't mean they are worse off. Less is best, but more is only less best. Its not bad. Judy

Hi Andrew! You have good advice coming from our folks here. I'm just thinking about you and saying a prayer for you as you are in this really difficult stage of diagnosis. I think you will do fine once the plan is in place!

Thanks, I have spent hours in this forum reading other peoples stories. It makes me feel better to know about other people with similar experiences. I enjoyed the thread about silly things people say and what annoys people. My family don't really talk about it and the word cancer is never used. I still am unsure about what I have and if its the same as fnhl. I have a lot to learn.

Hi Andrew It took awhile for us to use the word cancer as well. If I don't say it, then it's not true. Once you had a definitive DX, it will make it easier in my opinion to get on to the next stage whether it is Watch and Wait or treatment. It sounds like you have a solid idea of what to expect. Hang in there. Jojo
