UNOFFICIAL SURVEY: NHL...NED How long for you?

IT'S BACK! The UNOFFICIAL NED SURVEY.

For those of you that are new, NED stands for "No Evidence of Disease", which is something we all hope to achieve. In the past we have done this unofficial survey and it has given many, including me, HOPE!!!

I start my NED count from the time I first saw my name and NED together on my CT/PET scan report. If you count yours a different way, that's fine....after all it is your dance with NED!

So here we go:

My first NED report/scan was 11/05, my last NED report/scan was 5/07, and my next scan is due in 11/07, so I am only going to count from NED scan to NED scan, which would be:

NED for 18 months!

In two weeks it will be FIVE (5) YEARS! Pretty good considering at the time they told me that if I got to two years, they would consider it a good remission!

I finshed treatment on Dec. 26, 1996. Had surgery in Feb '97 and surgeon's biopsy result- NED.
So I have celebrated 10 years while on my way to 11.

My mother was dx with CLL 3 weeks after I was dx with NHL. She is now 80 and has had no treatment but she has had "spontaneous regression" of her disease.

I reached NED before my 4th chemo treatment! May 2004! Fought against having #4, 5 and 6...got thru 4 okay, with the 5th I got a large blood clot, the 6th, was stopped at my request...it was making me sick for the first time.
...and then I never looked back because MIRACLES DO HAPPEN!

I was dx'd in summer of 99, finished treatment in Feb of 2000, NED since.

Four months NED as long as I stay on Rituxan maintenance. That's the way it works with the "indolents".
