Since PETs are so expensive (actually, it's rather the whole installation, including the cyclotron to produce the radiopharmaceuticals which adds to the cost), there are only about 150 installations around the world

I suspect the cost is one reason why they are not utilized that much in our Canadian system

Actually there are several PET facilities in Mexico too, at least in Mexico City. In fact there are some excellent facilities, doctors and equipment here, which I am very grateful for!

34y, wife of Edoardo, mum of Isabel (3ys 9months) and Alessandro (1 yr 9 mths)
Diagnosed via biopsy: HL Oct 6th 2006 (2 months pregnant), Stage 3A defined Nov 8th 06.
External port installed: Nov 14th 06
Started ABVD treatments Nov 17th 06, stopped March 21st to recover for birth.
PET May 23rd 07, clean
Chemo restarted May 29th, deported June 22nd, last chemo July 11th 07!
Decided not to proceed with rads. PET Nov 07, Clean
