Default Depression - self assessment tool

As a psychologist, know that depression is very treatable and know that the incidence is higher when dealing like a stressor like NHL. Thought Id post this self assessment tool for depression as it might help some folks identify depression that might respond to treatment or that they should talk to their doc about!!

Thanks Anjou! I took the test - I got an 18! My problem is that I am only feeling this way when the hormones take a dip or rise or whatever. It used to be I felt like this about 2 days out of the month (PMS) but the rest of the month I was my old upbeat self. Now, I never know when or where it will hit, but it is about 2 weeks out of the month now and it is definitely due to hormone levels - I'm sure of it (other PMS sypmtoms like headaches and water retention are right there with it!)

I think I am losing my mind, but I am seeing my doctor tomorrow - I'll keep you posted! Hormones or Prozac - I'll be coming home with something, on that you can depend!

I am a 25 but between the drugs and the counseling it is starting to help. Things have been really tough the last 5 years and extremely tough the last 10 months. But the good thing is I am getting help.

Thank you skylin, anjou,
I never took this, even have therapist who said w/ Jesse's illness I was coping well enough. I am now (11/06) almost 30, depending on time of day, that worst? Hope!
I am in therapy, but cannot take SSRIs, so great a med (chronic hyponatremia, worsened by anything, like SSRIs), so I've been on Wellbutrin, but just doubled, added anti anxiety.
Thank you again. Just confirms what I "knew." I'll get Jess to take. Two spouses sick, same time, indefinite aspects or indefinite completely=depression
I have lots of Friends, Faith. This is what keeps me "together," therapy once a week too. Jesse and our Girls, AND THIS BOARD, do the trick, I guess. Never would have suspected almost 30 as score! (Could be higher another part of day/ night).

My best to ANYONE out there who feels depressed: AND for FRIENDS where I've dropped out last week or so, again, I'm sorry=not dropping out as usual, just "paralyzed" by time/ test commitments, sleep, and impending obligatory holiday preparation--I can NEVER let gift giving THEN get away.

May all your spirits, hopes, be lifted.

Love Always Lizzie PugMama
