Default let's talk about sex, baby...

Okay, maybe it's just because I'm tired and should really be in bed right now, but I'm in the mood to bring up the "sex" topic...

Just wondering if anyone out there is brave enough to talk about how their sex drive has been affected by chemo and other various treatments. I was told vinblastine does a number on the ol' libido (that's just a nasty drug, isn't it?!). I am suddenly feeling very badly for my wonderfully understanding husband...it just dawned on me today that I haven't so much as had an URGE to have sex in probably the last two month--and that may be a conservative estimate. Now I feel incredibly guilty, but still lack any amount of desire. Anyone else want to add to this conversation ... otherwise I will just feel foolish bringing it up...

Yup, pretty much gone. These days "excited" means a day with a good healthy bowel movement. Krull the Warrior King is on a sebatical at the moment, but here's looking forward to that last bag of the nasty red drug (strawberry flavored, wasn't it?) Yeah, my wife has been very, very patient.

Ok I didn't have the the same chemo as you guys did, I don't have a husband or boyfriend that I've had to worry about but I have got to say John I love your attitude. You are a definate asset and inspiration to this forum (and your hair reminds me of mine!)

Sex drive??? Whats that???

Seriously, I feel the same way you do. I have a really bad self image right now on top of all the crazy stuff they put in my body. I've gained weight, no hair and scars all over...I'm not feelin too sexy right now.

Hopefully things will change soon and I'll get the drive back.
Oh, I'm also on paxil and that can lower the drive too...poor John doesn't have a chance.

I never even wanted my boyfriend to touch me let alone have sex.....I remember that we went away to Universal Studios a couple weeks after chemo ended and he wanted to have sex all the time and the thought of it was tiring.....luckily it did come back in time and so will yours, dont worry!!!

Getting lucky during chemo was DEFINITELY having a bowel movement. Those days were Happy Days!!!

I'm sorry...for a moment there I thought I'd signed on to a geriatric website...not a cancer one! The BM celebration talk is cracking me up. Not exactly politically corrent to emerge from the ladies room, looking for someone to give you a high five upon success!

During chemo the thought of sex disqusted me. I had no drive at all and I feel now that alot of it had to do with my poor self image at the time. I wasn't feeling to sexy being bald and 20 lbs heavier!
Now...7 months out, it has returned and all is normal!
