Lump on right side of neck

I'm afraid of huge medical bills if I go to the doctor about the lump on the right side of my neck. It's in the front of my neck, actually. Did anyone start out with a symptom like that? Thanks!

maybe it might be better to think about your physical health rather than your financial health? Which of the two is more important to you over the long term? (If you really want to think about the financial cost of an illness, then maybe you should compare the cost of getting something diagnosed now, as opposed to letting it simmer for a while and then getting it diagnosed in one year's time.)

If you have some kind of symptom that is worrying you, then perhaps you must go to the doctor, no matter what you might imagine your ailment to be?

A lump on the neck does not mean cancer, it could be all kinds of things. Get it checked out, and do not jump to the worst possible conclusion straight away. We are not doctors on this board, but rather we are a collection of patients and their buddies.

Talk to an expert. I sincerely hope that it is something minor, and that it can get fixed simply and quickly.

Mine was actually on the right side of my neck, just below my collor bone right below my shoulder. However, lumps can be anywhere a lymph gland is and therefore show up in lotsa different spots. Unfortunately, there is no way of diagnosing online. You can look up different references, but anything you are unsure about really needs to be checked out by a doctor. Lymphoma has many symptoms and can manifest itself in many ways. In fact, the only symptoms I had was a lump and a little fatigue. I cant stress how important it is to go to a doctor to have them look at it. If its nothing, it will likely go away with antiobiotics (the first thing docs usually try), so that shouldn't entail huge medical bills. Take care!

I will repeat what my cancer doctor said after I told him I had my lump checked by 4 different doctors and was told not to worry about it. "If someone tells a doctor they have a lump they need to find out what the lump is not say dont worry about it". Not to frighten you but be on the safe side find out what it is.

Could be thyroid middle, front of neck halfway up.Go and get it checked.

There is assistance out there. If you are worried enough to come here, then money should not be the #1 thing. You only have one life... get it checked.

My first sign was a lump on the left side of my neck...like everyone else said...go check it out.
Hopefully it will be nothing...

Lump sitting on my collar bone was the first sign for me. As others have said, yours could be lots of other things. See a doctor and find out.
